"Balkaniada" is an exciting mountain running event organized for the fourth consecutive year in Central Balkan National Park, located in the heart of Bulgaria. This park, known for its high and picturesque parts of the Balkans, attracts tourists, runners, cyclists, and outdoor sports enthusiasts thanks to its rich network of tourist routes. Kiril Nikolov-Dizela, an iconic figure in mountain running and orienteering, is the inspiration behind the race, which offers a unique experience among the park's emblematic locations.
Starting in 2021 in Karlovo, the event includes routes of 44 km and 25 km, challenging participants with various weather conditions. On August 4, 2024, "Balkaniada" will offer three new routes with different lengths and elevation gains, starting from the city park in Karlovo, providing an exciting experience for both beginner and advanced mountain runners amidst the beauty of the Balkan Mountains.
