The event "Tarnovo Ultra" has become an extremely popular gathering place for sports runners from Bulgaria and abroad who are interested in trail running and mountain biking. This year, the competition offers a two-day sports festival that unites participants in overcoming routes through the picturesque areas around Veliko Tarnovo. This event serves as the start of the season for both disciplines, attracting both amateurs and professional competitors from across the country.
"Tarnovo Ultra" is remarkable because it offers routes for every skill level, from short distances for beginners to extreme challenges of 60 km for mountain biking and 51 km for trail running, which require excellent physical preparation and technical skills. The competition tests participants with various terrains, including fast paths, technically complex sections, and steep climbs, while also offering breathtaking views of nature and the unique atmosphere of the race.
The uniqueness of "Tarnovo Ultra" lies in the fact that it is the only competition of its kind in Bulgaria that starts and finishes in the center of a regional city, offering incredible views, well-organized support points, and markings. The event attracts hundreds of new participants each year due to the high quality of organization provided by the sports club "Brown Team" – one of the leading clubs in Bulgaria in sports orientation for the last twenty years.
